Jocelyn Tran

Regional Senior Director, South East Asia - Walmart Global Sourcing

She is also a member of the Women Leadership Council in Walmart Global Sourcing with the mission to make Walmart Global Sourcing the best place to work for women at all levels. In that capacity she is in charge of building talent pipeline through leading Walmart Mentoring Circle Group for our female associates in India, Pakistan and Turkey. Prior to Walmart, Jocelyn was Associate Vice President for Mast Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of L.Brands, whose brands include Victoria Secret’s, Bath & Body Works and Henri Bendel. Her 17 year career with the company included roles responsible for apparel sourcing, procurement and production from Mexico, Central America and Vietnam. In 2002 she opened and managed Mast Vietnam office for the next 11 years. Jocelyn has been on the Board of AmCham Vietnam, HCMC Chapter since 2003 and became their first VietnameseAmerican Chairwomen in 2010. Currently she is Board Member as well as Member of Advisor Committee of AmCham, HCMC Chapter and Board Member of Vina-Capital Foundation. Her contribution includes leading effort to support Vietnamese government establishing an export monitoring system to prevent dumping and illegal transshipments 2007-08 and initiating AmCham close cooperation with VCCI to support the Prime Minister’s Action Plan to establish harmonious labor relations for a stable investment environment while actively participated as part of AmCham Advisors to review the Labour Code. She is passionate about women and children issues; involving in causes to prevent human trafficking in the borders of An Giang/Dong Thap and Lao Cai Provinces with Cambodia and China. Jocelyn has an AA degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, USA. She is married to Toan Nguyen and they have a 16 year old son named Matthew.

Gian Tu Trung

Founder and Chairman of the PACE Institute of Management

Mr. Gian Tu Trung is the founder and chairman of PACE Institute of Management in Vietnam. He is also the president of the Institute for Research on Educational Development (IRED) in Vietnam. He currently serves as Vice President of Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Foundation. Mr. Gian has led the establishment and development of a number of non-profit education projects, including the Institute of Potential Leaders (IPL), GoodBooks Project, Annual GoodBooks Award, OneBook Project, and others. Additionally, he has founded and oversees the development of specialized book publishing initiatives entitled “Educational Development Bookshelf” (books for school teachers) and “Business Knowledge Bookshelf” (books for business leaders).

Pham Thanh Van

Director of Human Resources, RMIT Vietnam

Pham Thanh Van has had 25 years’ experience, mainly in human resource management leadership roles. At RMIT Vietnam she is responsible for managing HR on the operational front, driving an integrated HR strategy that permeates and shapes key plans, strategies, and initiatives across the university. Immediately before her RMIT appointment, she worked as an Independent Senior Consultant and Executive Coach with clients in Vietnam and overseas on strategic people and organisational development, as well as executive coaching. This work grew from her previous position as Asia-Pacific Regional Vice President HR for BP Upstream which encompassed BP exploration and production operations in Australia, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Daphne (Phuong Dung) Pham is currently Uber 's Senior Operations Manager and Ho Chi Minh City's City Lead. Before joining Uber in July 2014 as Uber Vietnam's first employee, Daphne worked in investment banking in New York City, advising technology, media, and telecom companies on M&A and capital raising deals. She also worked at Lazada, Southeast Asia' largest e-commerce company. Daphne a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics, summa cum laude from Mount Holyoke College (Massachusetts, USA).

Prior to the current role, he served as GBS Applications lead for Greater China, Japan and Vietnam, where he has helped drive strong year-on-year-growth up to 50% through key next-gen service offerings. Duy has helped build the Global Delivery Network for Mobility & Social offerings with up to 100 professionals across the countries and grew the delivery organization for CSC Vietnam up to 820+ professionals serving clients around the world. Prior to joining CSC, Duy held various leadership roles in tech startups where he was instrumental in building the first credit card processing engine and the first online e-commerce sites in Vietnam, dating back to 1999.
